A joint report "TFA in Water- Dirty PFAS Legacy under the Radar" by the Pesticide Action Network Europe and its member organisations, including PAN Germany, investigated the presence of the highly persistent chemical TFA (trifluoroacetate) in water. 23 surface water and 6 groundwater samples from 10 EU countries were analysed for TFA residues and other persistent chemicals. The extent of the contamination is alarming and requires decisive action.
